NORVILLE NEWS – Week 5 (15 - 19 MAY)
CELEBRATING SUCCESS
A HUGE well done to all of our students who participated in the District Cross Country held last Friday. All of our students put in a 110% effort and ran their hearts out. Interschool Sport will recommence this Friday 19 May. Congratulations to our Kaufusi Rugby League Team who played last Wednesday night and came away with a 26-8 win. The team will now progress to the next phase of the competition.
THIS WEEK IS VOLUNTEERS WEEK! A big THANKS to our parent volunteers who slaved away over many hot sausages at the Bunnings BBQ on Sat 29 April. The profit from the day will help contribute to having our School Chaplain work with our students for an additional two days per week as we are only given enough funding to have Chappy Emma here for 2 days. We certainly appreciate all of our volunteers whose contributions enrich the lives of our students every day. Our next P&C Meeting is Tuesday 16 May at 5.30pm. You can join in person or TEAMS in from the comfort of your lounge room!
HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY
To all of our amazing Mums, Nannas, Mas, Aunties. On behalf of all of the Norville Staff we hope you had a fabulous Mother's Day on Sunday. I found a lovely quote by Sharon Jaynes that really resonated with me – “Successful Mothers are not the ones that have never struggled. They are the ones that never give up, despite the struggles."
EXCITING WEEK COMING UP
Monday kicks off with Sean Choolburra an Indigenous Performer/Artist visiting Norville and facilitating two sessions for our students. All students are asked to bring a Gold Coin donation. On Tuesday 28 of our Year 6 students are participating in the Science & Engineering Challenge to be held at the PCYC. This entails a number of real-life challenges that students work in team to complete. Our U/8s Day will be held on Wednesday morning with a plethora of stalls and special visitors as well as numerous activities to keep students occupied and entertained
