NORVILLE NEWS – Week 4 (8-12 MAY)
CELEBRATING SUCCESS
We wish all our students participating in the District Cross Country this week the best of luck. Under the watchful eye of Mrs Mac students have been diligently practising before school for many weeks. Thanks, Mrs Mac for giving our students every chance of success! Please note there is no Interschool Sport this Friday due to the District Cross Country.
We are so very lucky to have so many amazing teachers at Norville who offer our students an array of extra-curricular activities. Mrs BN is starting 'Thinkers' Club' this Thursday for interested Year 4/5/6 students. Notes were sent home last week. This is a precursor activity to students being selected as part of our Opti-Minds team, a competition held later in the year.
SCHOOL DISCO – THURSDAY 11 MAY
It's that time of the term again when students get to 'strut their stuff' and show off their moves on the dance floor. A flyer has been sent to all parents via their email address and placed on our FaceBook page. A quick synopsis of times are:
Prep - 2.00pm to 3.00pm
Year 1/2/3 - 3.45pm to 5.00pm
Year 4/5/6 - 5.15pm to 6.30pm
Cost of entry is $5.00 which includes chips and a drink.
PAVER PROJECT FULL STEAM AHEAD
To make our school a safer environment for our staff, students and community we are having multiple sections of our pavers removed and replaced with cement. Currently the pavers between our Year 6 block and our new Year 3 & 4 buildings are being replaced. The next job to follow will be an upgrade to our Year 1 – 4 Toilet block.
NAMING HATS/JACKETS/JUMPERS
If possible it would be great if parents/caregivers can ensure that clothing items listed above are labelled with students' names. Already this week we have two very new Norville Jackets in the lost property without any names. If they are named we can help get them back to their owner and not be another expense to parents/caregivers.
