CELEBRATING SUCCESS

A HUGE thanks to our 52 students and parent/caregivers who braved some rainy weather to attend the Bundaberg Anzac March last Tuesday morning.  This number certainly exceeded our expectations and absolutely reinforces the respect and admiration that our Norville School Community holds for this very special day. These students will be presented with a certificate on parade this week. Also a MASSIVE WELL DONE to our Senior/Junior Choir, Instrumental Students, Norville Quills and our School Leaders who all contributed to an amazing Anzac Service held in the Kirkwood Centre last Monday.  Thank you to all staff who played a role in making what one guest said was, “the best Anzac Ceremony at a school he had ever attended!!"  Also a big CONGRATULATIONS to – George Holzheimer, Corey Jacobsen, Cooper Kelly and Korbin Love who have all been selected in the Bundaberg District Football Team and will compete at the selection trials for Wide Bay representation in early May.

Our students participated in the first week of Interschool Sport today.  It is always lovely to hear, as I did today from staff at other schools about the excellent behaviour and sports-person ship of our students.  Our students represent our school, themselves and their families with pride – WELL DONE!

Just a reminder that Monday is a Public Holiday – hope everyone has a relaxing day!

P&C COMMITTEE FOR 2023

It gives me great pleasure to let you know that our P&C Executive for 2023 are:

President          -  Catherine Cook (also our amazing Yr 1 Teacher)

Vice President  -  Kerensa Taylor  (parent of two fabulous students)

Treasurer         -  Alexandria Lawson (in her final year as Treasurer, Alex has no children at Norville but has unselfishly committed her time to supporting our school for several years now)

Secretary         - Linda Driver (Nanna to one of our students)

Our next P&C Meeting is Tuesday 16 May – all welcome!  If you have a spare hour or two would love to see you at Bunnings this Saturday 29 April as the P&C are running the BBQ

LEARNING NEVER STOPS

This term our teachers will be learning about Version 9 English of the Australian Curriculum.  The Australian Curriculum has been reviewed and changes have been to all 8 Learning Areas, to give teachers opportunities to integrate existing learning areas and have greater control over what they teach, when they teach this and elements that they may be able to remove to ensure we are focusing on the most important elements of the curriculum.  For the rest of this year our teachers will be focusing on English whilst next year this focus will move to Mathematics.
